My Office
Like most freelance translators I work from home. However my office is as equipped as many small businesses.
- I use the latest versions of Trados and SDLX.
- My computer is less than three years old and runs on Windows XP and Office 2003.
- I have a two megabyte broadband connection and Norton antivirus software.
- Contact with my clients is via telephone, email and MSN, fax and the post. Using FTP sites and websites like yousendit.com I can send and receive files of almost any size.
- I own a small (yet well thumbed) collection of specialist dictionaries and via the internet I access a wide range of free and subscription dictionaries and glossaries.
- The best bit about my office is the view over my garden and the occasional visits by the cat.
